Luis Finds a Path to Healing and Routine with ActaStim®
Former truck driver, Luis Sosa, 63, had lived with ongoing back pain since his twenties, after a work-related injury changed the course of his life. For years, he avoided back surgery and tried to manage the discomfort through other methods. But while recovering from a recent hip surgery and participating in physical therapy, the back pain became unmanageable. Eventually, his therapy had to be paused, and he was referred to a spine specialist. That’s when surgery came back on the table.
“I was nervous at first,” Luis says. “But the doctor explained how much better spine surgery outcomes are now, and that helped me feel more comfortable.”

Today, Luis is back to exercising twice a week, helping his wife around the house, and enjoying day-to-day activities like cooking, walking through the neighborhood, and visiting family nearby. Looking ahead, he hopes to get back to the hobbies he loves, including bike riding, fishing and hunting.
