After a car accident, Dianne turned to surgery and ActaStim® to help in her recovery.
Dianne, a grandmother and retired business owner in Florida, was injured in a car accident last year that left her with severe pain.

But after she had surgery and used an ActaStim® Bone Growth Stimulator to help in her recovery, Dianne is now back to leading an active life and even volunteering to help businesses recover in the Tampa area following the devastation of Hurricane Milton.
“ActaStim helped get me back to where I want to be,” she said. “It kept me motivated and allowed me to see how I was progressing, while my pain level slowly decreased over time.”
For several months following the accident, Dianne tried everything to alleviate the pain through medication and physical therapy. Nothing appeared to work. Dianne’s primary care doctor, referred to her a cranial and spine surgeon with HCA Florida Healthcare.
After seeing Dianne and conducting tests, she concluded surgery may be the best option to reduce the pain.
“Following the accident, I was concerned my pain would only get worse and not better. My pain level was already at 10 out of 10,” Dianne said. “After consulting with my doctor, I felt surgery may be the best option for me.”
Dianne had surgery in October 2023 and her doctor prescribed ActaStim, an FDA-approved, non-invasive stimulator technology designed to better support successful healing in patients following surgery.
It generates a sensation-free electrical signal that helps boost the body’s own bone-healing processes.

“The team at Theragen went above and beyond to explain the benefits of the ActaStim in my recovery journey,” Dianne said. “They would also check in to see how I was doing and was always available if I needed extra supplies.”
During her first follow-up visit with her surgeon, Dianne noted that her doctor was very pleased with how well the fusion was healing and at a rapid base. Her doctor relates some of her successful recovery to the ActaStim.
Today, Dianne has recovered from surgery and now spends her time gardening, pet sitting and going to lunch with friends and with her daughter and grandson who live nearby. She is also volunteering with the local Red Hat women’s group supporting local neighbors and assisting the community with hurricane cleanup and relief. Lastly, she is looking forward to taking a vacation in March 2025 to Nashville.
